Volunteer Spotlight - Ron Reavis
We can’t let this month pass without spotlighting one of our favorite people. Ron Reavis began volunteering during the restoration and has been faithfully serving our patrons ever since. When asked about his time at The Augusta Historic Theatre, Ron said, “I chose to volunteer at the theater as I love our small town theater and what it means to our community. I enjoy volunteer work and meeting and getting to know all the other theater volunteers. I started to volunteer during the restoration and just prior to when we installed the digital projection system. When that was completed I trained to be a projectionist.”Ron also helps by popping and serving popcorn, cleaning up after movies and just about anything else we need. “Ron is always willing to come in, even on short notice and can fill any position needed,” says Stephanie Cole, Augusta Arts Council member. Ron and his son always run the sound/music for Bugs Bunny club, one of our most popular annual events. Ron also helps with the WFO car show and many other downtown events. He’s also a long time volunteer for our local fire department. Please send Ron some love and help us thank him for all his hard work and years of service. We love you Ron and appreciate all you do! *To learn more about what Ron, and many others in our community, do to serve at The Augusta Historic Theatre, join us THIS SUNDAY, Oct. 1st from 2-3pm for a Volunteer Meet & Greet.
